A unique new family of reels in 4 different sizes starting with 2
compact models (4500 / 5500) and 2 big pit /surf sizes. An excellent
mid-priced reel fitted with Shimano’s Instant Drag. In comparisson to
the previous Ultegra XS series we proud to advised that the new XSC’s
are available with X-ship. Giving the reel a much smoother feel
combined with an enormously increased cranking power.

- Available in 2 big pit sizes 10000 and 14000 designed for distance casting
- Also available in 2 compact size 4500 and 5500 for distance feeder, specialist and seabass anglers
- Comes with 1 extra cold forged aluminium spool

Starting with 14000 size, the new Ultegra (XSC) has 035 - 550m capacity, 4,3:1 gear ratio and just 645g !

With the help of a friend, who I thanks, I managed to make a first impression of the reel mechanism.
In principle, the reel mechanism is identical at the Ultegra XS-B!
But attention. It is known that the models 4500/5500 have slightly different mechanisms of models 10000 and 14000. It is interesting that the XSC's, 5500 model that I have opened has the mechanism's of XSB 10000.
So, this is Shimano Ultegra XSC 5500 mechanism!
And this is Shimano Ultegra XSB 5500 mechanism!
So far no complaints. However, we can not overlook that replaces plastic bearing crank. You can say that Shimano has a minus from us.
